What is the BSL-3/BSL-4 Module Laboratory?
The term “module laboratory” can refer to a modular, prefabricated laboratory unit designed for high adaptability and rapid deployment. These laboratories are typically constructed in a factory setting and then transported and assembled on-site.
Features of QUALIA's Module Laboratory
QUALIA has innovated a medium-sized, all-stainless steel, fully welded animal laboratory, which meets the stringent ABSL-3 (Biosafety Level 3) standards, ensuring a secure environment for handling biological hazards.
Integrated and Durable Design
QUALIA’s module laboratory boasts an integrated structure made of 316 stainless steel with a substantial thickness of 3mm, ensuring durability through full welding. This robust construction is ideal for demanding biosafety applications.
Efficient Layout
The unique layout comprises 5 independent rooms, 2 corridors, and 5 buffer zones, spreading over a total area of 500 square meters. Such a spacious arrangement facilitates efficient workflow and safe containment.
Seamless Installation
The frameless design allows sealed components to pass through the walls and blend with the rooms, resulting in seamless equipment integration. This negates the need for second-time installations, thus saving time and reducing on-site labor.
Rigorous Construction Checks
- CNC processing of all structural elements ensures a perfect match with wall panels.
- Interior and exterior wall corners feature arc coving, allowing for a smooth, hygienic transition.
- The precise flatness constraint, with a deviation less than 2mm per meter.
- Airtightness that reaches ±500Pa decay, with a minimal volume loss over time.
Sandblasted Welding Joints
As per specific customer requirements, welding joints have undergone meticulous sandblasting. This is a critical process to ensure long-term airtightness and is especially important for areas subjected to close inspection.
Holistic Participation and Pre-fabrication
QUALIA’s engagement starts from the initial design phase, receiving the client’s screen layout and creating 3D models, encompassing the main structure and all biosafety protective equipment such as airtight doors and VHP pass-throughs. After user confirmation, QUALIA proceeds to factory-based production and 1:1 scale processing. Prefabrication in the factory includes all protective equipment, allowing for swift on-site installation with pre-established ports and outlets, eliminating the need for any on-site alterations.
On-Site Assembly and Quality Assurance
The final step involves the customer conducting on-site assembly and welding of the prefabricated components, followed by a thorough airtightness test to ensure the highest safety and quality standards are upheld.
